Robo-gatchi [BOG JAM - SUMMER 2025]

How to Play

Robo-gatchi is primarily played with a mouse. You'll need to manage 3 things for your robot pet: energy, play, and cleanliness. You can click the respective buttons to increase the care levels for those stats. The game is essentially done once your robot pet evolves.

Important things to note as they are not mentioned in game:

• Robot pet cannot recharge if its energy is full.
• Robot pet will not recharge if it is too dirty (<20%)
• Robot pet will not play if its energy is too low (<20%)
• Robot pet will be ready to evolve once its influences total up to at least 50%
• It will typically evolve depending on its highest influence, but if any influences are tied then the types will take priority in this order (hydro > solar > wind)

This game was originally a submission for Bog Jam - Summer 2025. The optional theme for the jam was "Robot Companion", hence the Tamagotchi/virtual pet-like gameplay, with the main inspiration being Kaiju Development Program. Due to late development of the game, Robo-gatchi was unable to be a finished game by the end of the jam.

However, I would like to continue development for this game at some point so it can become a more finished and polished game!

Some of the concepts I wanted to add is more evolution possibilities (such as more types and second stage evolutions), minigames that can be played when you play with your robot pet, animations, etc. I also want to update the way first stage evolution works if any influences are tied, mostly to be random rather than certain types having priority.
